Character NAME: Gau
Canon & MEDIUM: Final Fantasy VI
Canon PULL-POINT: World of Ruin, before the party is able to recruit him again.
Character AGE: 13
Character ABILITIES: Gau's unique ability from the other party members of Final Fantasy VI is called "rage". With it, Gau can copy the abilities, strengths and weaknesses of monsters he's familiar with but would be incapable of listening to the commands of others. He becomes taken over by the instincts of his chosen monster until the enemy is defeated or he is incapacitated. For more information of the ability, Final Fantasy Wikia has a list of the mosters he can copy. He won't have the rages taken from bosses, dragons, monsters with instant death skills, monsters that have yet to appear in his canon point (I'll make a list eventually) and monsters that you have to dummy out to get their rage in-game.

Gau can learn magic, but because the spells he learns depends on how the player played the game, he's already a bit overpowered given his rage and because I'm too lazy to choose spells for him, I'm not going to have Gau have any magic for Exsilium.

Character HISTORY: Final Fantasy Wikia Entry
Character PERSONALITY:

Gau is Final Fantasy's take on the abandoned child raised by beasts type of character. Abandoned by his father in the Veldt after his mother died from childbirth, he grew up in the wild. He has most of the traits you would expect from a wild child. He can talk in human speech, but his grammar leaves a lot to be desired. He's rambunctious. He doesn't really care that much about clothes or decorum.

Despite this, Gau isn't entirely vicious. He can be first seen in-game saving two strangers (Sabin and Cyan) from drowning. While the people of Mobliz fear the "monster boy", he never did them that much harm. He does demand for food a lot, however, with his penchant for dried meat. No one has reported him for stealing or raiding the village, and he would run away screaming about bad people scaring monsters away when attacked. This does not mean that he's a gentle person. He does pull his own set of dangerous pranks (dangerous possibly because what's danger to someone raised in the wild anyway) from time to time, and he has taunted Sabin to fight with him when they first met, which he called a dance. But he does have this live and let live attitude. While he hasn't fully grasped the concept of what is and what isn't socially acceptable, he isn't a malicious force of destruction.

Gau has been pretty helpful since meeting Sabin and the others fight against the Empire. He doesn't make any major decisions and tends to follow plans. It's easy for him to consider others as friends. And he does what he can for his friends. He will fight for them, share his collection of shiny things, travel the world with them and get over his fear of heights for them. Despite all his shortcomings when it comes to human interaction, Gau manages to keep his friends because of his ability to empathize and consider the feelings of others. He went from playing pranks on Sabin to understanding the sudden mood shift of bringing up a topic that reminded Cyan of the death of his family. And he apologized for it. He was able to grasp how lonely it must have been for the espers to be unable to return to their homes, and how terrifying it must have been for Terra to find out that she is not completely human.

And when Gau found his father again, only to unrecognized by the old man who indirectly called him a monster upon remembering that "nightmare" that he had about having a child of his own, despite all of Gau and his friends' efforts to make him look presentable, he did not hold a grudge. He instead stopped Sabin from punching the lights out of his obviously mentally unstable father and expressed happiness in finding out that he was doing okay.

» EXSILIUM INFORMATION
Chosen WEAPON: A fang necklace that let's him copy a body part of a monster he knows the rage techniques of. I'm thinking it would probably enable him to fully transform into that monster at a limited time eventually.
Chosen SKILLSET: Fighter. Animal Negotiator? Mr Thou?
Character INVENTORY: his clothes, three and a half pieces of dried meat, a shiny rock
